We took the web camera down permanently due to Sept 11th and the potential risk of showing live submarine and Coast Guard traffic.

This was while the Children's Pier was being built.

Sail Fest, held in mid July each year, draws large crowds to the waterfront park.  Food stands were to the right of this photo along with ships that allowed visitor to board and look around.  The rest of the boats were to the left, including the Coast Guard's tall ship Eagle.

The sun is almost down.

December Photos: Here are some interesting and spooky fog photos.

Oct 23, 2000: The Seawolf visited New London Harbor.  See the submarine in the upper left hand corner of the photo.  Look at the top of the lamp post and then you'll see it across the river.

Oct 24th:  Pilings are installed around New London's Children's Pier. See photos here.

This cam shows frequent boat and train traffic in New London Harbor, as well as foot traffic along the water. Amtrak's new high speed Acela train passes by occasionally, but it is not in regular service yet. You can view some of August's traffic here.

Submarines pass by a few times a week on the opposite side of the river.  Look carefully, their black color makes them hard to see. There's a sample shot on the Submarine page. The Coast Guard Academy's tall ship Eagle can also be seen once in a while as can schools of Coasties (Academy students) learning how to sail in one person sailboats.

On October 12th visitors from Norway visited the Amistad docked in New London.  They wanted to say hello to their brother in Norway.  See their photo here.
