Makes a Great Gift

The USS Nautilus, the first US nuclear submarine, was built in 1950 at Electric Boat in Groton, CT.  The boat is now docked at the Sub Force Museum in Groton and is available for viewing by the public.  The following photos were taken in July of 2001.  

The drivers, like everyone else, worked in close quarters.

Like the rest of the boat's interior, the galley had no room to spare.  It was about twice as wide as what you see above. 

The Mess  
Space may have been at a premium, but there was no skimping on the food.  The crew ate well.
